I'm Gorka Di Capitan, an event photographer and videographer based in Edinburgh. Brand launches, private parties, club nights, festivals and weddings: if it only happens once, that's my kind of job.
Events are unforgiving in the best way. There are no reshoots, no second takes and no pausing the room while I find my angle. You learn to read a night before it peaks, to be standing in the right spot before the confetti drops, and to get the shot without ever becoming part of the show. Years of covering nights across Edinburgh and Scotland have made that instinct second nature.
The range keeps it interesting. One weekend it's the Moulin Rouge after-party at The Dome with the whole building lit red, the next it's a packed dancefloor at Why Not, a Latin Fest crowd with their drinks in the air, or Emma and Sibo's wedding, where the brief is simply to catch the day as it actually felt.
Most of my events happen in Edinburgh and around Scotland, but I regularly travel across the UK and abroad. If the date matters to you, the distance doesn't matter to me.

I plan events like a second organiser. Before the night I want the running order, the key people and the moments that cannot be missed, so when the lights go down I'm already where the shot will be. You get coverage that looks effortless because the work happened before the doors opened.
I shoot photo and video at the same event, which means one booking covers the aftermovie, the photo gallery and the short clips your socials need the morning after. For recurring nights I build a rhythm with the promoter so every edition feeds the promotion of the next.
And I know how to be invisible. At a wedding nobody wants a photographer running the show, and at a club night nobody wants a flash in their face all night. The best event content happens when people forget the camera is there.
