A FEW WEDDINGS A YEAR
EDITORIAL WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER
SCOTLAND & DESTINATION SPAIN
I'm Gorka Di Capitan, and weddings are the smallest part of what I shoot, on purpose. I take on a handful a year, never more, and each one gets planned like a full production: photography and film mapped out together, months before the day itself.
Rocío and Sergio got married on a wild stretch of coast in Huelva in 2025: white dunes at golden hour, then a candlelit night swim once the sun had dropped. We shot it in three movements: the dunes, the shoreline, then the pool after dark, moving slowly enough that the light did most of the composing.
Emma and Sibo married on a hilltop in the Highlands: a piper brought the guests up the field, and they said their vows under a willow arch with the water behind them, hay bales standing in for pews. It's the Scotland side of the same approach: small crew, nothing staged for the camera. If yours is one of the handful I take on this year, enquiries are open.

WHAT I TAKE ON

Rocío and Sergio's wedding in Huelva: golden hour on the dunes, then a candlelit night swim once the sun dropped, shot as one continuous evening instead of a checklist of poses.

A film that plays back the way the day actually felt. Emma and Sibo's hilltop ceremony in the Highlands, piper included, is the clearest example on this site.

Scotland is home base, but the light in Spain is hard to argue with. Huelva's dunes did most of the work on Rocío and Sergio's wedding.

Welcome dinners, rehearsal nights, the morning after: covered the same way as the wedding itself, if you want them documented too.
WHO THIS IS FOR
Couples marrying in Scotland, or planning a destination wedding in Spain, who want photography and film planned together rather than booked separately.
People who would rather have one small crew that knows the plan than two teams meeting for the first time on the morning.
A handful of weddings a year. If the date is taken, I'll say so straight away.
WEDDINGS I'VE PHOTOGRAPHED AND FILMED
Few by design. Each one planned as a full production.
WHY GORKA DI CAPITAN
WHY THE EDITORIAL APPROACH
Weddings are where I started, in Seville in 2014, shooting them in my spare time while working at a television production company. Years of commercial work came after, and I came back to weddings on my own terms: a few a year, treated like the productions they are.
Editorial means the day is photographed the way it happens, with the light and the place doing the work, and a film planned alongside the stills so neither gets in the other's way.
If that is the kind of wedding you are planning, in Scotland or in Spain, tell me the date and where.
