MY WORK WITH JOAQUÍN GONZÁLEZ

Joaquín González is a chartered sport psychologist who works with esports teams like Movistar Riders and KOI and clubs like CB Rincón de la Victoria. He is also my cousin. This started as a portrait session for his personal brand and ended up being the entire platform his practice runs on.

Personal branding has a reputation as influencer territory: trainers, youtubers, creators. Joaquín is the counter-example. A chartered psychologist competing for attention in modern sport, esports included, needs what any brand needs: an identity, proof of work and a site that answers what people actually search. And in sport psychology there is no beaten path to copy yet, so we drew our own.

Photography set the art direction, not the other way round. The portraits carry his home, about and how-I-work pages, and the editorial shots illustrate his real cases, like a still life of a smashed PS5 and two destroyed controllers for a case about frustration outbursts in esports. The promo reel on his home is mine too.

Around the photos we built him a modern website: made to impress at first glance but, above all, to be efficient. It loads fast, with a speed Google rates as near perfect, works beautifully on any phone, tells his seven real cases with clubs named and individual athletes anonymised, publishes his prices, and he edits every word and photo himself, without touching code. Booking requests land in his inbox and he answers them from there.

SEO was part of the build, not an afterthought: the site went live with a full migration from his old domain, and its SEO health score climbed from 61 to 91 while impressions grew 240% in under a week. Business numbers take longer, so this case sticks to what is provable today; I will update it as his stats come in.
