MY WORK WITH TAPAS 3

I'm Gorka Di Capitan, and during the first quarter of 2026 I collaborated with Tapas3, one of Edinburgh's most beloved independent Spanish restaurants on Howden Street, ranked among the top restaurants in the city on Tripadvisor.

This project pushed me creatively, stepping away from my signature dark, moody and contrasty style to embrace the bright, warm and vibrant energy that defines authentic Spanish cuisine and culture.

The result was a body of work that captured the soul of Tapas3, from their freshly made tapas and carefully curated Spanish drinks to the passionate flamenco performances that make this place unlike anywhere else in Edinburgh.

What started as a single shoot has grown into a monthly collaboration: I now cover Tapas 3 regularly, building the photography and video that keeps their social media alive month after month, and these days I also help with their marketing and their new website.

In August 2026 they hosted a flamenco company running a show through the Edinburgh Fringe, and I covered it from backstage to the stage itself. If you need an Edinburgh Fringe event photographer, that month has its own rules, and I wrote about them in the journal.
