HOSPITALITY SPECIALIST

PHOTOGRAPHER & VIDEOGRAPHER
FOR HOSPITALITY

I'm Gorka Di Capitan, a hospitality photographer and videographer based in Edinburgh. Restaurants, cocktail bars and hotels are where I've done most of my work, and honestly, where I feel most at home. Give me a busy kitchen pass, a bartender mid-shake and a dining room filling up for service, and I know exactly what to do with my camera.

Hospitality is a different discipline from any other kind of commercial photography. Food changes under the lights within minutes. A cocktail only looks perfect for a moment. The best shots of a venue happen while real service is running, not in a staged silence. Years of shooting inside working venues across Edinburgh and Scotland taught me how to get striking images without slowing the team down or getting in the way of guests.

Some of the venues I work with have kept me around for years. The Dome on George Street, Beirut Restaurant, The Winton in East Lothian, Burgers and Beers on the Royal Mile, Rose Street Garden, The Mallard Hotel in Gullane and the Lodges at the Loch Ness, among many others. When a venue calls you back season after season, it usually means the content is doing its job: filling tables and rooms.

I shoot mostly in Edinburgh and around Scotland, and I regularly travel for projects across the UK and beyond. If your venue is further out, distance is rarely the problem.

WHAT I SHOOT FOR HOSPITALITY

01
RESTAURANTS

Menus, plating, the kitchen and the dining room in full swing. Food photography and video built to make people hungry before they've read a single word, from casual spots to fine dining rooms like The Dome.

02
COCKTAIL BARS

Pours, garnishes, flames and the hands behind the bar. Dedicated cocktail sessions that turn your signature serves into content people save, share and come in to order.

03
HOTELS & STAYS

Bedrooms, bathrooms, lounges and breakfast done properly. Imagery for booking platforms and your own website that shows the stay honestly and still makes people want it.

04
PUBS & BEER GARDENS

Sunday roasts, pints, live music nights and the regulars who make the place. Documentary style coverage that captures what a proper local actually feels like.

WHO THIS IS FOR

For restaurants, cocktail bars, hotels, pubs and cafes that need photography and video with a clear commercial purpose: more bookings, more covers, more room nights.

Whether you're launching a new menu, opening a venue, refreshing your booking platform imagery or feeding social media week after week, the goal is the same. Content that looks like your venue on its best night and makes people want to be there.

I work with independent venues and with groups, in Edinburgh, across Scotland and anywhere in the UK the project takes me.

WHY GORKA DI CAPITAN

WHY HOSPITALITY VENUES KEEP CALLING BACK

I've spent years inside working venues, so I don't need your kitchen to stop for me. I know when to shoot around service, how to work with the chef's timing and how to make a bartender feel comfortable enough to be themselves on camera. That's how you get images that feel real instead of staged.

I also understand what the content is for. A dish shot for a delivery app needs different framing than a hero image for your website, and a reel for social media lives or dies in the first second. Before we shoot anything, I want to know where it's going and what it needs to achieve.

The proof is in the relationships. The Winton has been calling me back since 2022, The Dome trusts me with everything from menu shoots to their biggest nights, and venues like Burgers and Beers brought me in for the full picture: food, drinks, people and atmosphere. If you run a venue in Edinburgh or anywhere in Scotland, I'd love to see it.
