MY WORK WITH TANTRA RESTAURANT

Tantra was a contemporary Indian restaurant on Castle Street in the heart of Edinburgh, known for its progressive reinterpretation of Indian cuisine and an immersive, multisensory approach to food and drink. Every dish was built around texture, presentation and theatre, from smoking bottle service to cocktails served in sculpted glassware.

From 2021 to 2023, I worked with Tantra as their photographer, videographer and social media manager, producing the visual content and campaigns that shaped how the restaurant presented itself: interiors, food, drinks and the overall lifestyle appeal of the venue, alongside the design of menus, posters and illuminated signage.

The restaurant closed roughly a year after my time there ended, but the visual identity we built together helped drive real visibility for the venue, from quieter midweek nights to fully booked weekends, in a competitive Edinburgh dining scene.

Alongside the main brand video, I produced a series of short cocktail videos for the menu. Two of them, the Cocos Nucifera and the Remy Martin spot, remain among my favourite pieces of work from the project.

Smoking bottle service and cocktails in sculpted glassware deserve content with the same sense of theatre. If your restaurant has a personality this strong, let's put it on camera.
