MY WORK WITH EL KILLO

Geriatrico is another single from EL KILLO, the Matalascañas-born artist behind Los Duendes, released as part of his Rap Session series.

When the track landed there was no solid visual idea for it at first. But I keep a notebook where I write down and sketch ideas for future videos, and in it were drawings of a giant octopus taking over a seafront. The inspiration goes back to my childhood: some Saturdays my dad would take me to play an arcade machine called The Ocean Hunter, one of the first videogames I ever played. It stuck with me. I'm still deep into arcades today, and the idea of a giant octopus and sea creatures has fascinated me ever since.

The shoot day was supposed to be sunny. It wasn't. Between the grey sky, the wet promenade and EL KILLO's track, everything clicked: it was time to bring those notebook sketches to life. The result blends live footage with a high-end CGI giant octopus wrapping itself around the video.
