The Pipers Rest sits on Hunter Square, just off the Royal Mile in the heart of Edinburgh's Old Town, a proper Scottish pub with live music seven nights a week between their own resident singers and a rotating cast of local talent, a serious selection of malt whiskies, local gins and craft beers and an atmosphere that is impossible to fake.
I have been working with them since mid 2026 producing monthly photography and video content covering food and menu photography, drinks and cocktail photography, promotional campaigns and live action content that captures the real energy of the venue on a Friday and Saturday night. The goal with every shoot is simple: if you have never been to The Pipers Rest, you should be able to watch the content and feel exactly what it is like to walk through that door. Not a polished version of a pub. The actual pub.
The Piper's Rest is one of Edinburgh's most visited pubs, drawing locals and tourists alike to Hunter Square just off the Royal Mile for live folk music seven nights a week, traditional Scottish food and a drinks selection that runs from craft beer to single malt whisky.
The photography and video produced here is built around one objective: capturing the real atmosphere of the venue as it actually is on a Friday or Saturday night, not a sanitised version of it.
